Common Questions About Birth Certificate Translations
How long does it take?
Generally a 1- or 2-page birth certificate translation takes just two days, but it does depend on the language and how busy we are. Send us your a copy of your birth certificate for a free quote and time estimate.
What languages do you offer for birth certificate translation?
We translate birth certificates from any language into English, and from English into any language. We routinely do Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Tagalog, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese. However, even if your birth certificate is in another language, we are a close network of translators and can accommodate virtually any request.
Do I need a birth certificate translation notarized or certified?
The answer to this question must come from the person or institution who requested the translation from you. Some institutions, including the Indian consulate and most universities, require translations to be notarized. Others, like the USCIS, no longer require translations to be notarized — just certified. (See their official rules here.)
Should I send you the original or certified copy of my birth certificate? Do I have to drop it off?
We require an electronic copy of your birth certificate to perform the translation. There is no need to drop off the original birth certificate. Please scan your birth certificate and send it to us using this online form. If you don't have a scanner, take a photo of your birth certificate using a digital camera. If you prefer to fax us your birth certificate, use this number: (801) 642-5584.
How will I receive the certified translation of my birth certificate?
We offer two ways to make it easy for you. First, we always send you an electronic copy (PDF) as a draft to approve the birth certificate translation. For notarized translations, required by some embassies, we can optionally print and have the translation notarized. We are happy to mail the document for free using U.S. first-class mail. We only charge when mailing birth certificate translations outside the United States, or for overnight delivery.
